Description

This guide, which is dedicated to modern multipitch and trad routes, completes the range of climbing guides for the canton of Ticino.

In addition to interesting climbing gardens, Ticino also has fantastic long routes in granite that is among the most excellent in the Alps. The mild climate and the varied climbing also attract numerous climbers from the regions north of the Alps.

This expanded edition has been written and updated by the same authors who wrote the guide to the climbing gardens in Ticino. They are among the protagonists of these walls, where they have developed and repeated various routes, some of which are very difficult. By collaborating with local climbers, they were able to gather the latest and often unpublished information, which contributes to making this guide as complete as possible.Furthermore, there are stories about our authors' personal experiences on the walls of Ticino and interviews with the most important climbers in the area.

Matteo Della Bordella,

born in Varese in 1984, studied industrial engineering and has been climbing since the age of 12. He has repeated routes throughout the Alps, many of them in the upper difficulty range. He has climbed some of these routes free and onsight, such as Pesce in the Marmolada. He has also opened up numerous extreme routes and has been a member of the Ragni di Lecco group since 2006. His activities range from rock climbing to alpinism and non-European expeditions. His most important ascents include the first ascent of the west face of Torre Eger in Patagonia (2013), the first ascent of the southwest face of Torre di Uli Biaho (6109m) in Pakistan and the expedition "by fair means" to Shark Tooth in Greenland (2014).When he's not traveling the world, he can easily be found in the walls and climbing gardens of Ticino, where he has opened up many routes, some of them very challenging.

Davide Mazzucchelli,

born in Varese in 1976, a consultant for textile informatics, is married, has two children and describes himself simply as a great mountain lover: rock, ice, mixed and ski mountaineering. He has traveled all over the Alps, devoting himself in particular to the lesser-known and potentially tricky routes!Nearby Ticino served as his training and preparation camp.In his alpinistic career, the development of new routes, preferably trad routes, the confrontation with the greats of the past, intense winter ascents and the depth of solo ascents play a special role. He and Matteo della Bordella are also the authors of the guidebook to the climbing crags in Varese and Canton Ticino.
<p
