Description

Located in the north-west of Sicily, the area around San Vito lo Capo is one of the most popular climbing destinations for the chilly season. Campsites that used to be closed in the autumn are now open all year round and enjoy lively visitor traffic and an international climbing public from all over the world.
climbing public made up of climbers from all over the world reflects the importance of the area.
Many routes can be reached directly from the campsite in just a few steps and on Monte Monaco there are even multi-pitch routes up to 400 m high waiting for repeaters. The mild climate, convenient flight connections to Palermo or Trapani, the infrastructure of San Vito with a beach, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels and everything else you could wish for, as well as plenty of excellently secured and truly excellent sport climbing - especially in the lower grades - make this area, which is located directly on the coast, an absolutely top spot for European climbing. The fact that many of the sectors can be reached on foot in 1-5 minutes and, furthermore, that one of the main sectors is right next to a campsite, rounds off the overall picture of this great area in a comfortable way.
The ninth edition has once again been expanded to include several sectors and 68 sport climbing routes and, as always, was produced in close cooperation with the main developers in the region.
New are QR codes for the GPS coordinates of the sectors and parking lots. As far as can be ascertained, the year of development is now given for the individual routes and the type of bolts and material used is recorded using new symbols.
The climbing guide, designed with large-format photo topos and extensively researched, already gives an excellent impression of the rocks and climbing routes on site: just leafing through it gives you a powerful appetite to get your own hands on these impressive walls in color and shape
in color and shape.

- 1280 sport climbing routes (+68) and many multi-pitch routes up to 400 m
- Information on arrival and infrastructure on site
- Photo topos of all crags; detailed approach sketches
- Including bouldering spot, located directly in the climbing area
- New: Symbols for bolt type and material type, where available
- New: QR codes for the GPS coordinates of the sectors and parking lots
- New: Information on the year of development of the respective route, if available
- 304 pages (+16) completely in color with plenty of climbing pictures
- 3-lingual German-English-Italian

Featured sectors:
Rocca Firriato - Monte Monaco - Pizzo Monaco - Nuova Ossessione - Cattedrale nel Deserto
- Il Grande Occhio - Scogliera di Salinella - Valanga - Placche di Macari - Torre Radio Nord
- Grotta Perciata - Lost World - Castelluzzo Outdoor Wall - Crown of Aragon - Cinema Paradiso
- Never Sleeping Wall - Grotta di Ceriolo - Rocca di Ceriolo - Boulderspot BIG CAVE
